Welcome to my campaign website!
I ran for State Assembly in 2012 because I knew firsthand how difficult it can be to succeed, but also how people can change their lives for the better if given the opportunity.
As the child of immigrants, I benefited immensely from the opportunity to get a good education and go on to fight for good healthcare jobs. But without that opportunity, those teachers and friends urging me on, I most likely would not have made it.
I ran to ensure that every student and every resident in California doesn’t have to count on chance to take advantage of those opportunities. I ran to restore funding to our schools and community colleges to help students succeed and workers get the skills they need for quality jobs.
I ran to make sure our children have access to quality, affordable health care, and continue fighting to make sure health care professionals like doctors and nurses are making health care decisions instead of insurance companies.
On November 6, 2012 we won the honor to represent the residents of the 51st District in the California State Assembly. Now in 2014, I am running for re-election and ask for your support.
As your Assemblymember, I will continue to work with our communities and residents to identify their needs, so together we can work towards real change in Northeast Los Angeles.
